In order to use the website, you first need to create an account. Creating an account is free but if you wish to have more features, you must upgrade your account. To create a profile, go to www.myheritage.com and fill in the sign up form on the homepage.
Already have an account? Sign in on your account by following instructions below:
- Open your browser and go to www.myheritage.com.
- Click the link “Log in” in the top right corner.
- You should now see a pop-up with a login form where you can enter your email-address and your password. Do this and click on “Log in” to continue.
- Congratulations! You should now have access to your account.
Can’t access your MyHeritage account? Try resetting your password to solve the problem. To reset your password, click the “Log in” button on the homepage. Next, on the log in window, click the link Forgot your password? You should now see a form where you can enter your email-address and click on “Submit” to reset your password.

In 2003, Gilad Japhet founded along with a team of enthusiasts, the website MyHeritage. Eight years later the site had more than 75 million registered users. There are more than 27 million family trees on the site, and about 1.5 billion profiles.
In 2008, MyHeritage acquired Kindo, another family network that was popular in Europe. Followed by the acquisition of the social network OSN, including Verwandt.de, Verwandt.nl, and the Dutch family network Zooof.com in 2010 . In June 2011, MyHeritage.com purchased Bliscy.pl, a family network in Poland. The world’s first backup service tree data BackupMyTree.com was purchased in September 2011. In the last month of 2011 MyHeritage became the owner of American FamilyLink and WorldVitalRecords.com. MyHeritage also got an office in the United States.
In November 2012, MyHeritage bought Geni, which also focuses on building a global pedigree. Thereby its network was expanded to 72 million registered members, 1.5 billion profiles and 27 million family trees.
