Microsoft begins rolling out Skype for Business

Microsoft has begun rolling out the Skype for Business client. This tool is intended to replace Lync in the Office 365 cloud packages and Office 2013. In late May the deployment of the software will be completed worldwide.

In March a preview version of Skype for Business appeared after several beta versions. The software giant announced today that its VoIP and chat software will be included in the monthly update round for Office 2013. In addition, the software will be available in Office 365. In late May, the entire migration will be completed.

Skype for Business will replace Lync Online in Office 365. The software is integrated into the office software from Microsoft and the business users have the ability to perform calls with regular Skype users. However, administrators may wish to limit the functions of Skype.
