How to Sign Up For iCloud – Detailed instructions with pictures

iCloud is a cloud storage service offered by Apple for its range of products such as iPhone and iPad. It can be used to store data and keep it safe in case your device is damaged. Signing up for it is easy! All you need is your iPhone or your iPad.

Here’s how you can sign up:

Step One: Go to Settings

First you need to go to settings and find “iCloud”. It looks like this:

Tap on iCloud!

Step Two: Tape on “Create a new Apple ID”

Now you should be seeing something like this:

Step Three: Select your birthday

You will now be seeing something like this:

All you have to do now is select your birthday!

Step Four Enter your name

You will now have to type in your name. The screen will look like this:

Step Five: Choose an email-address

Now you have to select the email address you will use for your Apple ID. The screen will look like this:

As you can see, you can use an existing email address or get a brand new @icloud.com email address made just for your icloud! Once you select one of the options, you will see this:

Type in your email and tap on “Next”.

Step Six: Enter a password

You now have to think of a password for your Apple ID. The screen will look like this:
iCloud password
Think of something easy to remember, but hard to guess for people apart from you. Something like your favourite fruit. Also, Apple requires you to have at least one number, uppercase letter, and lower case letter in your password, so if you want to make your password “banana” you will have to type it in as “Banana1” to make it secure enough. Done? Tap on next!

Step Seven: Select security questions

You will now have to select three security questions in a screen like this:

Some examples of what kind of questions you’d be able to choose from are:

Choose three questions one at a time and type in their answers. If you ever forget your password, Apple will ask you these questions before sending you a temporary password.

Step Eight: Add a rescue email

For added security you can add a rescue email which can be used to confirm your identity.
