How to Sign Up For Hotmail/Outlook – Simple instructions
Hotmail is a web-based e-mailing service, and one of the oldest around! It was one of the first e-mailing services, founded way back in 1996! That’s probably why it’s still one of the best web-mailing services around. With perks like unlimited storage, a file attachment limit of 25 GB and, thanks to it being owned by Microsoft, availability within the Windows Phone OS and Skydrive ecosystems. It is one of the most popular email services in the world, and, after a rebranding by Microsoft as “Outlook” and a brand new design, it wins major points in the looks department too!
Want to make yourself an account? Not sure where to start? Not to worry, it’s easy as one, two, three!
Step One:
Go to the Outlook website at www.hotmail.com or www.outlook.com. The homepage looks something like this:
You can see the blue “sign in” button over there. Click it! You can also click the blue “sign up now” button on the bottom there if you want.
Step Two:
You will now be taken to a page that has a sign-up form on it that looks something like this:
All you have to do is fill it in! Standard procedure, put in your name (first and last), a username you like, and a password that is both easy to remember and hard for someone other than you to guess. A good idea for a password could be your mother’s maiden name, or your wife’s birthday. Also, put in your country and zip code, along with your birth date.
The second half of the form looks like this:
All you have to do is put in your gender, provide either an alternate email address or a phone number that can be used to verify your identity, and put in the captcha to prove that you’re a human.
Step Three:
Surprise! There is no third step; you’re done in two! Now, wasn’t that easy? All it took was a few taps of your keyboard and a couple clicks of your mouse for you to make your very own hotmail account!
Happy emailing!
