Since July 29, Microsoft is rolling out Windows 10 to all users. However, the new version of the operating system can also be downloaded manually.
Download Windows 10
This can be done by going to this page. On this page there is a tool (32-bit and 64-bit) at the bottom of the page that allows Windows 10 to be fully downloaded, a download of about 3GB. What have you needed besides of course an internet connection and enough free disk space, is a valid license number for Windows 7 or Windows 8.
Upgrade directly or burn it
After downloading the tool, you can choose to upgrade the computer directly to Windows 10 but there is an option to upgrade another computer. In that case an ISO file will be downloaded which can be placed on a DVD or USB stick. This allows you to quickly update another computer to Windows 10.
If you update your current computer, this will take some time. During the process you will be asked what exactly you want to keep, such as settings and apps. Note during installation to look good on the privacy options. In retrospect, the old Windows installation will be placed in a Windows.old folder on the installation disc.
In case you want to upgrade a different computer, then you will have to select the language, the version of Windows 10, and the architecture (32-bit and 64-bit). After making these three choices will the ISO file of Windows 10 can be downloaded directly.
