About Google Analytics
Google Analytics is a service from Google to collect and view statistics from a website. The purpose of this service is to give the administrator of the website a clear picture of the flow of visitors, traffic sources and pageviews. Based on this information, a webmaster can customize any advertising campaigns or even parts of the site to the behaviour of the visitor.
Google Analytics is closely linked with Google Adwords, which makes it easy for a webmaster to manage advertising campaigns and if necessary adapt.
The service got big update in 2007 with a new interface and some new options. Some existing options have been made more accessible.
