FAFSA is designed for US residents only (citizens and permanent residents). US authorities often borrow money to anyone who meets the criteria and most students are committed to repay the loan over a period after graduation.
The FAFSA form is composed of multiple questions about the economic situation of the student and the student’s family, that information is put into a formula that determines the extent of the family’s financial ability to support students (this is called EFC). The factors that determine the EFC include family size, income, number of family members attending college, and family property. The FAFSA form does not include questions about the origin, race or religion of the student.
Following the information which was received on the site, a report which contains detailed information about the student’s eligibility for federal grants, is forwarded to the student. The student should carefully review the report to make the repairs necessary to complete the report.
