When you sign up for Dropbox , you get 2 GB of free storage. This may seem like a lot but trust me it won’t take long before you need more space, especially if you have installed the App on your smartphone with the auto-backup feature.
If you want more space, then you have two options:
- You pay for extra storage or
- You refer others to Dropbox for free space.
When someone registers through your link , you get 500MB of free storage from Dropbox . You can get up to 16GB for free.
Sign up friends
When you refer friends to Dropbox, you must do this with a special link so that Dropbox can know that people have come through you. You can get this link by following these steps:
Go to Dropbox.com and sign in with your username and password
On the top right of the website you see” Get free space “. Click on this link.
You get a number of options . For now let’s use option three: Refer friends to Dropbox . On this page you can import your email contacts or even manually enter email addresses of friends you want to invite. You can also find a personal link on the bottom of the page that you can send to your friends. My referral link is eg https://db.tt/AvU9LXH . So if someone sign themselves with this link, I get 500MB free storage from Dropbox .
You can also share your personal link on Facebook or Twitter with the social media buttons you can find on this page.
