Apple increases limit for iCloud contacts and vCards to 50,000 addresses

iCloud logoDo you have many friends and contacts, then we have some good new for you. Apple has increased the number of contacts you can sync from 25,000 to 50,000 on iCloud. That can be read on an updated support document on Apple’s website, as discovered by iFun. The limits for calendars, bookmarks and reminders have remained the same.

Below you can find all the limits that Apple uses.

To keep iCloud data up-to-date, you must not exceed the following limits:

Calendars and reminders

  • Total calendars, activities and memories: 25.000
  • Maximum combined number of calendars and reminders lists that you can have: 100
  • Maximum size of all diaries and memories (not including appendices): 24 MB
  • Maximum size of the attachments of all activities: 300 MB
  • Maximum size of a calendar activity including attachments: 20 MB
  • Maximum number of attachments per activity: 20
  • Maximum number of attendees for an event: 300
  • Maximum number of people with whom you can share a private agenda with: 100
  • Maximum number of characters in the title of a memory 100

Contacts

  • Total contact cards: 50.000
  • Maximum size of a contact card: 256 KB
  • Maximum size of the picture of a contact: 224 KB
  • Maximum size of a group of contacts: 256 KB
  • Maximum size of all contact cards:
    • Text of card: 24 MB
    • Photos of a card: 100 MB
  • Supported file types for photo contacts: JPEG, BMP, PNG, POISON
  • Limits of vCards:
    • Total vCards: 50.000
    • Maximum size of a vCard: 256 KB (picture + text)
    • Maximum size of the picture of a vCard: 224 KB

Bookmarks

  • Total bookmarks: 25.000
  • Maximum size of a bookmark: 4 KB
  • Maximum size of all bookmarks: 24 MB
