About Apple

Apple is best known for its series of Apple Macintosh computers, the iPod music player, the iPhone smartphone, and iPad. Besides the hardware, the company also develops its own software for their own OS X, but also for Windows. The late 70s, Apple had become familiar with the Apple II, one of the first successful personal computers in the world. The Apple II was instrumental in the rise of the PC market. These series of small successes, however, came to an abrupt end by an impending bankruptcy. In 1997 the company was on the brink of the abyss, but with an investment of 150 million US dollars (by Microsoft), the company was helped back on its feet.

Today, Apple Inc. enjoy a very recognizable logo. In late 2009, Apple became the brand of the decade by the advertising magazine AdWeek. The AdWeek editorial attributed the success of the brand to former CEO Steve Jobs, who “embodies the brand” and was named “a brilliant marketer”.

Apple set a new record on August 20, 2012, with a market capitalization of over $ 620 billion. Never was a company worth so much. The old record was held by Microsoft. That software company had on December 30, 1999, worth $ 618.9 billion.

Design and Integration

Since the introduction of the iMac in 1998, Apple’s attention to the design of its products is widely known. This is largely thanks to the design of Jonathan Ive who was knighted by the British Queen in 2005 for his work. It is no exaggeration to say that the design of Apple products is a major influence on the industry and has in the past repeatedly made popular new concepts. In 2001, Apple introduced a completely new operating system called Mac OS X. The operating system is only suitable for Macintosh computers and is based on NeXTStep and the older Mac OS 9. Apple introduced at the Macworld Expo in San Francisco on January 10, 2006, its first Macintosh computers with Intel x86 processors. At the Expo on January 9, 2007, Apple introduced the iPhone, the new Mac mini, and Apple TV.

Closing quotation Stabbing

In 2007, the company formally changed its name from Apple Computer, Inc. to Apple Inc., to clearly indicate that the product portfolio of the company covers more than just computers. The logo refers to the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. This fruit is often associated with the apple. In the biblical story, Eve took a bite of the fruit when man was still in paradise.
